On Saturday, 21 September 2024, SAAA Queensland hosted a gathering at Padlockd Escape Rooms on Gold Coast.

Testing their wits and teamwork in an immersive escape room experience the members have challenged their problem-solving abilities. By joining the escape room enthusiasts and some that tried it out for the first time, the event fostered strong connections and provided a unique opportunity for members to bond in an interactive, high-energy environment.

After the adventure, the participants gathered to share stories, plan for future SAAA events and enjoy the company of fellow and future SAAA members.

On Sunday, 10 November 2024, members of Slovenian Australian Academic Association (SAAA) and the Slovenian Language and Culture Association Queensland Inc. (SLCA)  jointly celebrated World Science Day in the heart of nature.

The day began with a warm welcome and a guided walk through the rainforest at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Two knowledgeable and good-humored volunteers, Felicity and Carmel, guided the group in uncovering of the secrets of this vibrant ecosystem. The exploration then continued at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, where science came alive through interactive exhibits.

Afterwards, the group enjoyed lunch at the Mountain View Cafe with stunning views over the Glasshouse Mountains. And children continued their fun with science-related activities.
